Welcome to the Nucor House, a sober living facility operated as a part of Warrior Salute Veteran Services. The Nucor House, named after benefactor Nucor Steel, is fully furnished and includes all amenities for its residents. Food and transportation are also included, as well as case management services for veterans

Parade Route: Penfield High School to Penfield Community Center via Penfield Road, Route 441

Parade Line-up starts at 9:30am at the high school, roads will close by 9:45am. It will be easiet to park at the community center and walk down to the high school.

Two volunteers needed each week to help distribute the food from the district grant project.

We will be eating dinner with the campers at Camp Haccamo, Rotary Sunshine Camp. Watch for details.

​Camp Haccamo

Since 1956, the Rotarians of the greater Rochester area have operated Camp Haccamo. In 2009, Camp Haccamo moved to its new location on the Sunshine Campus in Rush NY. 

Camp Haccamo is a Rotary Camp designed to provide a FREE, safe and fun summer camping experience for children and adults with a wide range of special needs.

​Camp Haccamo offers:

• A weeklong, overnight camping experience
• A ratio of one counselor per two campers.
• A chance for a respite for camper’s families.
• Special events like the Carnival Nights,
• Talent Show, and Prom.

Join us and the Nucor residents to fill 100 backpacks for children at school 54. We will be collecting school supplies in the coming weeks, watch for an email with a list of what is needed. Pizza served after the work is done!

SOYODI GLOBAL GRANT - UPDATE 4 - Steady Progress at Dressmaking

This life-changing skills program, spearheaded by SOYODI is a partnership with the Rotary Club of Soroti Central and the Rotary Club of Corning (USA). Beyond skills training, it is a movement of hope, resilience, and community-driven change which will fight poverty and unemployment for our beneficiaries and their families for generations to come.

Penfield Rotary and Penfield Recreation will sponsor the annual Community Bike Drop on Saturday, October 4th at Penfield Community Center, 1985 Baird Rd. from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm.

All bicycles collected will be donated to R Community Bikes, Inc. for repair and redistribution to needy children and adults in the Rochester area. All types of bikes are needed, including children’s tricycles, toddler plastic bikes and bike parts. Receipts will be available.

R Community Bikes, Inc. is a grassroots 501c3 organization that collects and repairs used bicycles for distribution, free of charge, to Rochester’s most needy children and adults. Its mission is to meet the basic transportation needs of those in the community who depend on bikes to get to work and training sessions, as well as for recreation.

Join us tomorrow at 4:00pm to help carve pumpkins for the Penfield Community Victory Garden.
 
Meet at the Penfield Community Victory Garden - 1748 Five Mile Line Rd, Penfield, NY 14526
 
The pumpkins we carve will be used Saturday night for the Annual Lighted Pumpkin Walk at the Community Garden.
 
Pumpkins are provided along with carving tools. Just need to bring some creativity!

Parking: Bayview YMCA, follow the signs, shuttle provided, please DO NOT park in handicap spots at the Y

Tickets: $30 per person (Includes water, coffee and snacks. Other beverages and food will be available for purchase during the games.)

Proceeds will benefit Penfield Scouting, Robotics Team and Student Scholarships. 

It's that time of year again we are apple picking for the food cupboards at Wickham Farms on Monday, November 3rd starting at 9 am going about noon. Invite your friends and family to help out! Make sure to bring gloves, 1-2 bags for apples to take home and wear sturdy shoes!
