The Penfield Rotary Club was awarded a District Simplified Grant in July 2019 to help fund the building of a shelter
at the Penfield Community Victory Garden. The shelter will provide much needed cover for gardeners during extreme heat or bad weather. Additionally, the shelter will provide a space to the many classes the garden offers to community members each year.

The shelter was built with the help of Eagle Scout Candidate Ryan H of Pack 230, who secured the necessary materials and labor to help the project come to fruition. The shelter is a great example of how District Simplified Grants can be secured by local Rotary Clubs to benefit the entire community!
